Southside Middle School

Southside is a traditional middle school setting that educates students in grades 6-8. Our educational program includes core classes in Reading, English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Additional options include physical education, family and consumer science, art, music, computer technology, industrial technology, band, choir, and Spanish.

Character Education is a primary focus at Southside Middle School. Each student is seen as unique and Southside staff strive to meet the unique needs of each student and family. This is accomplished by addressing the educational, emotional, and physical needs of each student. Southside’s Gifted & Talented, Exceptional Needs, and Alternative programs serve those students with unique needs.

Not only are students at Southside provided a wide range of academic options, they also have the opportunity to participate in a variety of extracurricular activities such as traditional team sports, academic teams, intramural sports, and drama. Southside’s bands and choirs compete and perform throughout the school year.

Principal Craig Standish

At Southside, our motto is "Relentlessly pursuing excellence and continuous improvement." We preach this to our students every day.

We have an incredibly dedicated teaching staff that works hard to see that all our students reach their potential.  We also offer a wide variety of clubs and activities to develop our students beyond the classroom. From our highly regarded Music Arts program to our nationally recognized Robotics team, there is something available to meet the interests of each and every student.

I couldn't be more excited about where we're headed. We have worked hard to develop learning-centered focus for students and we now see our entire student body benefitting in different ways. The school spirit on display daily is wonderful to see!
